Paola Trujillo grew up on Patio Bonito, her family’s farm in Caldono, northern Cauca. After studying chemical engineering, she came home to lead fermentation and processing, and she now works alongside her parents to refine every stage from cherry to dry bean. This lot is Wush Wush, a rare variety that traces back to southwest Ethiopia and reached Colombia about 30 years ago. Hand picked at peak ripeness, it is fermented, washed and dried on raised beds. In the cup it is juicy and bright, with mandarin, green apple and lime over honey sweetness and a touch of rosehip.

Patio Bonito covers 11 hectares in northern Cauca, at 1570 to 1650 masl, with volcanic soils and cool mountain air. Founded by Carlos Trujillo, who has farmed coffee for nearly five decades, the farm holds around 47,000 trees across 13 varieties, including Gesha, SL28, Bourbon Rosado, Typica and Laurina.
